Catch the Culprits (Who Did It?)

Introduction
A top city lawyer’s wife, Mary J. Mills, was today shot down on Fifth Avenue. The sweet streets were populated, yet the large sum of witnesses in immediate questioning are acting unusually suspicious. Police are beginning to assume the entire crowd was either bribed, blackmailed or part of a bigger picture - a typical trait of crime in this unlawful city. There is no evidence and there are no suspects. All that remains is Mary, a pool of blood and a silver bullet in her chest. However, this is just the beginning of the case, and thorough investigations are only just being prepared. A criminal is out there, and, like the rest, he or she will be tracked down.

Chorus
Who did it, somebody killed,
Mary, glamorous Mary Mills,
Who did it, nobody noticed,
On money everybody else focused,
Who did it, wife to the most wanted,
Of the most wanted, she had it coming,
Who did it, keep your enemies closest,
Who will catch the culprits?

Verse One
Mary, glamorous Mary Mills,
Animal fur and expensive heels,
Confident walking, talking only -
Solely, to those proud and prosperous,
Sniggering smiles and snooty chauffeurs,
Filthy rich, they could live like loafers,
Smirking with her third husband,
An absurdly pretentious lawyer,
Crucially hailed, usually blackmailed,
And Mary has jealous exes,
Infectious-like as emotion spreads,
Commotion-prone is her mindless head,
A doll so crooked of 1920,
Holds no grudge, but men hold many,
She’s simply greedy, needy and lusting,
If it makes bills she’ll kill her husband.

Chorus
Who did it, somebody killed,
Mary, glamorous Mary Mills,
Who did it, nobody noticed,
On money everybody else focused,
Who did it, wife to the most wanted,
Of the most wanted, she had it coming,
Who did it, keep your enemies closest,
Who will catch the culprits?

Verse Two
Mary, beautiful Mary Mills,
Animal lover with extensive bills,
Hides under makeup, shyly talking -
To anybody high chinned and snorting,
Falsely smiling, often driving,
To and from jobs, her cheques are declining,
Crying, with her third husband,
An absurdly neglecting lawyer,
Wrongfully thrived, he’s commonly bribed,
And death took Mary’s exes,
A widowing wife wasn’t on her checklist,
She remarried quick, was depicted reckless,
A soulful doll so lost in ‘20s,
Loving and grudgeless, loved by many,
She’s simply caring, giving and trusting,
But lost all hope with her first lost husband.

Chorus
Who did it, somebody killed,
Mary, glamorous Mary Mills,
Who did it, nobody noticed,
On money everybody else focused,
Who did it, wife to the most wanted,
Of the most wanted, she had it coming,
Who did it, keep your enemies closest,
Who will catch the culprits?
